Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Cusco - City Tour

Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the Hotel Cusco; where you will be welcomed with coca-infused tea (“mate de coca”) that will help you get used to the altitude – free morning to take a walk around the ancient capital of the Incas or to acclimatize to the great settings altitude .
After lunch at 1:30 pm; Tour Cusco including the Cathedral, Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Our tour begins in the Plaza de Armas in Cusco. You will enter the Cathedral of Cusco and see the beautiful wood crafts and colonial paintings that contain extensive Inca iconography. Visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) in which the Santo Domingo Convent was built. Legend has it that this temple was completely covered in gold, which impressed the conquerors upon their arrival.
Ascend to the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman and visit the Citadel. This is the royal house where they admired the Sun God, but also worshiped younger gods. Admire this great structure and enjoy the magnificent scenery that brings peace and tranquility. Next, visit Qenqo, the ancient temple of the Puma. Inside you can see a sacrificial altar made of a huge stone. In Tambomachay, you will see the sacred sources of life and health. Pucapucara safeguarded the city gates and the Sacsayhuamán Fortress. The tour ends with a detailed visit of the city of Cusco – Accommodation at the Cusco Hotel

Day 2Sacred Valley of the Tour

Breakfast at the hotel; Pick up at the hotel at 8:30 am for your full day excursion to the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, explore the beautiful landscape of Peru with a full day excursion of the magical Sacred Valley. First, you will visit the city of Pisaq, known for its lively market. This hometown was once where “Forex trading” took place. In this type of operation, clients exchange one good for another instead of using the currency. Visit the Pisaq market, where you can buy wonderfully handcrafted products handcrafted by the locals.
On Sunday, the main attraction is a mass celebrated in Quechua and performed in Spanish. It is the presence of the mayors and their assistants who play traditional musical instruments called “pututos”.
Afterwards, you can enjoy a typical Peruvian lunch (included in the price) before visiting the Ollantaytambo fortress.
Next, we will visit the impressive ruins of the Ollantaytambo fortress. These magnificent ancient ruins serve as great vantage points to gaze out over the valley. Originally the royal domain of Emperor Pachakuteq during the Inca Empire, this site later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca in the final Inca rebellion against the Spanish. Day 3 Moray - Maras (by bike)

Breakfast at the hotel; We start our tour leaving Cusco at 8:30 am in the morning to catch the bus that takes us to Chequerec (Chinchero). The bus trip takes approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. We do not start our cross adventure passing the Huaypo lagoon to the archaeological complex of Moray where we will enjoy the impressive view. Continuing our journey we will arrive at Maras, where the part of descent of approx. Starts 1 hour. Then we will enjoy a tasty picnic lunch to get a new power to continue with the tour of the salt terraces near Maras. From Maras to the terraces is downhill 40 minutes long. After visiting this interesting site we continue our journey to the sacred valley for around 40 minutes (Pichingoto, Tarabamba). Then we take the bus to our camp in Calca near the hot springs called Machacancha.
The whole trip is about 40 kilometers and takes about 4 to 5 hours. After a delicious dinner, you can relax while taking a bath in the hot springs.

Day 4 Machacancha - Lares (by bike)

At 7:00 am in the morning we will serve you a “good morning tea” to awaken the animal spirits. At 8:00 am breakfast is ready. We start our tour at approx. 9:00 am to the Lares gorge, which is at an altitude of around 4:30 am and an hour and a half hour from our camp in Machacancha. From the Lares gorge we go downhill for approx. 20 minutes (20 km) to the community of Pampa corral (rural community). There we enjoy a delicious lunch and a short break to gain new energy for the second part of our journey today.
After lunch we continue our amazing journey to Lares, 20 km uphill through the highway to reach the Lares district. There are 20 kilometers to the left to reach the town of Lares (4 hours approx. From the full action) our camp for tonight is in the area of ​​the hot springs, located 10 minutes from Lares. So if you want you can take a bath to relax

Day 5Lares Gorge - Calca (by bike) / Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes

At 9:00 am we take the bus that takes us back to the Lares gorge (approx. 1 ½ hours). Then the fun part of our trip can start the 10km downhill through horse shoe routes and ancient Inca trails, passing bridges and tombs, to the community of Torota.
After a delicious lunch we will ride 10 kilometers to Calca, through the road, passing Machacancha to Calca for approx. 3 hours.
Then we take the transport to Ollantaytambo (it takes about 45 minutes), where we will take the train to Aguas Calientes; We will spend the night in Aguas Calientes hotel

Day 6 Full Day Machu Picchu and return to Cusco

Breakfast at the hotel; Full day excursion to Machu Picchu from Aguas Calientes, early transfer at 5:30 am to the bus stop for the short trip (25 minutes) to the citadel of Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, you will participate in a guided tour of the Citadel, visiting the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock (the most important preserved Intihuatana), the royal rooms, the Temple of the Three Windows, houses, warehouses, a large central square; and all connected by narrow roads and passes that are surrounded by terraces carved into the mountainside. After the tour you will have time to wander around the archaeological site at your leisure.
Then, you will have time to do any of the following activities by yourself (not included in the price):
1. 1. Ascent to Wayna Picchu; For the more adventurous, we suggest you climb the Wayna Picchu from where you can appreciate the immensity of Machu Picchu, being even more surprisingly high and distant.
2. 2. At the foot of Puerta del Sol; opportunity to walk (approx. 1 hour) to Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku)
