You will have the rest of the morning free to yourself so you can take rest or take a stroll around the former capital of Incas.
At 0130 PM, we will be picking you up from your hotel to begin the Cusco City Tour. On this half day tour, we will be visiting the Cusco Cathedral, Sun Temple (Coricancha), Sacsayhuaman, Q’enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.
Cusco Cathedral stands right on the main square of Cusco – Plaza de Armas. It was once an Inca Palace. On conquering Cusco, the Spanish rulers demolished the palace and built the cathedral on its remains. It portrays a blend of Inca and Colonial architecture.
Qorikancha, also referred to as the temple of Sun, was a supreme site of worship to Incas. The Incas revered Sun (Inti) and this former Inca temple was very important to them. But, as most sites in Cusco, the Spanish rulers demolished the temple and built the church on its remains.
Legends say that the temple was once covered in Gold. When the Spanish rulers abducted the then Inca Emperor, Atahualpa, most of the gold from the temple was paid as a ransom. But the Spanish to the typical colonial way, beheaded him on receiving the ransom.
The tour continues with a drive to Sacsayhuaman. It is a notable Inca fortress. Here you will be able to see some of the impressive stonework of Incas.
Each rock here weighs over a ton. It is still a mystery though how the Incas transported these rocks here.
We will then visit Q’enqo. This small archaeological site was used by Incas as a place where they did sacrifices and mummified corpses.
The tour continues with a driver further to Puca Pucara. This massive rock was used by Inca militants as a watchtower to safeguard Cusco from any intruders.
Finally, we will be visiting Tambomachay. It has a series of aqueducts which were built by Incas and are in use even today. This place served as a spa to the political elite.
After the tour, we will be driving you back to the centre of Cusco City.
Note: It is highly recommended that you arrive in Cusco between 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
After the breakfast at your hotel, we will be picking you up at 0830 for your full day Sacred Valley Tour. We will begin with a drive to Pisac. This is one of the most charismatic villages in the Sacred Valley.
Pisac is popular for its weekend market. Farmers and craftsmen from neighbouring villages set up tents around the main square to sell their products. The village is also home to Inca ruins that nestles on a hilltop, overlooking the valley.
This Inca ruins is second to the city of Machu Picchu in size. Here we will be giving you a complete tour of the complex. You will be introduced to Incas farming techniques and their rituals that they practised here.
We will then drive you to Urubamba. Here we will be serving you a typical Peruvian lunch (included in the price) before visiting the Ollantaytambo fortress.
Ollantaytambo is a beautiful village. It is the best example of Inca Empire’s town planning. The village is snuggled in between two hills. We will be visiting the fortress here.
It was built by Inca ruler Pachacutec who also built Machu Picchu and Choquequirao.
However, Manco Inca expanded it. It served as his stronghold when the Spanish invaded Ollantaytambo. He and his troops managed to defeat Spanish intruders in the battle of Ollantaytambo.
After the detailed tour of the complex, we will start our journey back to Cusco city. It will be a three hours drive during which you can enjoy the enchanting views of Peruvian highland farms.

We will then continue to Huaypo lagoon where the adventure begins. After a short briefing, we will start biking down the dirt road to Maras village. The village is home to salt terraces that have been in use since Inca civilization.
This is the main source of income to locals. They still practise the traditional solar evaporation method to extract salt from here. They let in the natural spring water into the geometric shaped puddles and wait for it to evaporate. When it does, it leaves behind crystals of salt which are scrapped out manually.
Maras Salt is pinkish in colour and has a distinct taste.
We will then bike to Moray. It is home to circular farming terraces. These terraces have different levels dug into the ground. Each level has a different temperature.
This helped the Incas to determine the best weather condition needed to grow a crop.
After the trip, we will take the bus to our camp in Calca near the hot springs called Machacancha.
The whole trip is about 40 kilometers and takes about 4 to 5 hours. After a delicious dinner, you can relax while taking a bath in the hot springs.

We will begin with an uphill hike for 20 minutes to Lares district. This will be a four hours hike. For the night, we will be camping near the hot springs which is roughly 10 minutes away from Lares.
