Itinerary

Day 1Cusco City Tour

Upon arrival, reception and transfer to the Hotel in Cusco; where you are welcomed with a traditional drink coca tea (“coca tea”) that will help you to achieve a good adaptation in the altitude free morning to take a walk around the ancient capital of the Incas or to achieve a good process of to air conditioning.

After lunch at 1:30 pm; The City Tour begins in Cusco including the Cathedral, Koricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Pucapucara and Tambomachay. Our tour begins in the Plaza de Armas. We will enter the Cathedral of Cusco with an exuberant Baroque style of the 16th century, see the beautiful wood crafts with gold leaf and colonial paintings that contain extensive Inca iconography.

We will visit the Koricancha (Temple of the Sun) part in which the Santo Domingo Convent was also built. The chronicles say that this temple was completely covered with gold, which impressed the conquerors upon their arrival in the capital of the Empire.

Ascend to the Archaeological Park of Sacsayhuaman and visit the great Inca wonder. This is the royal house where the Sun god was honored, younger gods were also worshiped. Admire this great structure and enjoy the magnificent landscape of the Cusco Valley with peace and tranquility.

Next, we will visit Qenqo, the old temple in honor of the Puma, inside you can see a sacrificial altar perfectly worked in a huge piece of stone. In Tambomachay, you will see the sacred ceremonial sources of life and health, finally we will visit the Pucapucara fortress.

It is an important mandatory checkpoint before entering the city of Cusco or the Sacsayhuamán Fortress. After having enjoyed all this archaeological and cultural knowledge we return to the city of Cusco – Night of Lodging in Cusco.

Day 2Sacred Valley of Incas

Buffet breakfast; The transfer starts from the hotel at 8:00 am for your full day excursion to the impressive Sacred Valley of the Incas, explore the beautiful full day landscape of the magical Sacred Valley. First, you will visit the city of Pisaq, very famous for its well-known and varied artisan market, textiles, handicrafts, works and unique silver designs.

In colonial times, “exchange of products or barter” was carried out. In this type of operation, customers exchanged one good for another instead of using currency. To know the Pisaq market is to appreciate the magnificent works made by hand local people, this gives an incalculable added value to their work.

Sunday is a main day in Pisaq for having the attraction of hearing masses celebrated in Quechua and Spanish. With the presence of the main authorities such as mayors and their assistants who play traditional musical instruments called “pututos”.

Then, we continue to the city of Urubamba, the most important in the Sacred Valley, here we have a typical Peruvian buffet lunch (included in the price) for an hour we will enjoy the restaurant facilities, and then continue our visit to the Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo Knowing this impressive archaeological complex reflects the great management and mastery that these characters had in the place.

This magnificent archaeological group offers a great panorama and viewpoint to contemplate the valley both to the South and the North. The chronicles say that it was the royal domain of Emperor Pachakuteq, this great Inca portent later served as a stronghold for Manco Inca when he carried out the rebellion against the Spanish.

Then we return to the city of Cusco, on this journey we will visit the town of Chinchero, famous for having the Colonial Church built on Inca walls, the textile handling of ancestral times, they serve to know the works based on Alpaca wool and Vicuña, later in the afternoon return to Cusco.

Day 3Train to Aguas Calientes and Mandor Valley, Birdwatching.

Two days of excursion to Machu Picchu; Our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and we will transfer to the Poroy train station, to enjoy a 3 ½ hour train ride to the town of Aguas Calientes, this trip is one of the most beautiful tours that visitors can experience.

The trip offers a great variety of natural landscapes of the Andes to later change to a jungle environment, we descend to (2000m / 6560ft). After 3 and a half hours, we will have arrived at the town of Aguas Calientes, transfer to the hotel scheduled to do the respective check-in process.

After lunch in Aguas Calientes we will visit the Mandor Valley, famous and highly recommended for bird watching; It has some wonderful waterfalls of natural formation. The valley is inhabited by varied and fascinating birds, such as parrots and greens, and if we are very lucky we can find the famous Cock of the Rocks.

Rest and perhaps bathe under the waterfall before walking back to the scheduled hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will spend a magical night.

Day 4Full Day Machu Picchu Tour

Buffet breakfast at the hotel, to enjoy the sunrise at the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu; Very early transfer at 5:30 to the bus station for the short trip (25 minutes) to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and be the first to enjoy the great sunrise in Machu Picchu, feel the energies and the great mystery that the Inca citadel.

In the company of your expert guide you will participate in a guided tour of the Complex or Sacred City, visiting the Main Square, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Solar Clock, the most important known as Intihuatana, important for its great handling for Inca astronomy.

Then, some of the following activities are suggested to be carried out on your own (not included in the price):

1. Ascent to the Mountain of Wayna Picchu; For the more adventurous, we suggest you make the ascent to the Sacred Mountain of Wayna Picchu from where you can appreciate the immensity of the Sanctuary, thus achieving the best of your experiences.
2. Make the walk to Puerta del Sol; opportunity to walk (approx. 1 hour) to Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku).

After the visit we have our lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge restaurant in Machu Picchu, then take the bus down according to the scheduled time to take the return train.

According to the time on our ticket we go to the Aguas Calientes train station to take the train back to the city of Cusco upon arrival at the Poroy station, we have contact with our staff, reception and transfer to your Hotel in Cusco . Accommodation at the Cusco Hotel.
