Visiting Machu Picchu tops the bucket list of many travellers in South America. We have designed this exclusive two day private guiding tour to offer you the most of the Inca Citadel.

Unlike the regular tours where you will be spending two hours in Machu Picchu, we have designed this in a way so that you can spend two days in the citadel.

On the first day of the tour, we will be transferring you from Cusco to Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley of the Incas and onward to Aguas Calientes town. On this day, you will be visiting Machu Picchu on a half day trip to get an introduction to the Inca Citadel.

The second day of the Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu tours begins quite early in the morning. You will have the opportunity to witness the sunrise. After you have toured Machu Picchu citadel, we will accompany you on a hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain.

Itinerary

Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu Tour

Day 1Cusco - Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu

We will be picking you up from your hotel in Cusco early in the morning and will transfer you to Poroy Train station. Here you will be boarding a two and a half hours Vista Dome Train to Aguas Calientes.

The route is scenic and offers spectacular views of the Peruvian Highland farm and villages. Once at Aguas Calientes train station, our representative will meet you and will transfer you to the bus terminal.

Here, you will be boarding the tourist bus to visit Machu Picchu citadel. We will be giving you a two hours guided tour of the citadel. After the tour, you will have some free time to visit the citadel.

Alternatively you can hike to the Sungate. It is how the trekkers on Inca Trail to Machu Picchu enter the citadel.

After touring Machu Picchu, we will be stopping for lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge. Later in the afternoon, we will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes. Here we will be accommodating you in an ensuite hotel room for the night.

Day 2Sunrise in Machu Picchu - Huayna Picchu - Aguas Calientes - Cusco

Early in the morning, after relishing a buffet breakfast, we will be taking a 30 minutes us trip to the entrance of the citadel. As you enter the citadel, you will witness the sunrise as the clouds clear-by.

We will then walk you to the trailhead of Huayna Picchu mountain. Also known as Wayna Picchu, this mountain is a popular sight in the citadel. To maintain its authenticity, authorities restrict the access to just 200 people a day. Often permits sell our months in advance.

Here we will be visiting the temple of the moon and other attractions. The hike up is somewhat challenging, so make sure you are acclimatised and are not afraid of heights.

From the summit, you will have a pristine view of the citadel.

Once you have had your fill of the citadel, we will be taking the bus back to Aguas Calientes. After lunch, we will be boarding the train back to Poroy. Our representative will be meeting you on arrival and will transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco.
