Cusco Airport Transfer
Depends on your flight’s arrival time
We will start our two day excursion to Machu Picchu picking you up from your hotel in Cusco city. Then we will head to the train station.
Enjoy a 3 ½ hour train ride to the town of Aguas Calientes. The journey offers you a great variety of natural landscapes of the Andes to later pass to a jungle environment as we descend to Aguas Calientes (2000m / 6560ft).
Once we arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, you will be transferred to the hotel scheduled to do your check-in process.
For lunch, we will be sharing a nice meal at Indio Feliz Restaurant. Afterwards, we will visit the Mandor Valley, very famous and highly recommended for bird watching.
It has some wonderful natural waterfalls. The valley is home to a variety of fascinating birds, such as green parrots, and if we have luck, we will be able to observe the famous ‘Gallito de las Rocas’ (Andean cock-of-the-rock).
Here, we’ll take some time to rest and have the chance to bathe under the waterfall, before returning to our hotel.
On this first night of accommodation we will spend the night in Aguas Calientes.
To begin our morning, you will have a buffet breakfast at the hotel. Today, you will enjoy the sunrise during our visit to Machu Picchu.
Very early in the morning at 5:30 am, we will go to the bus station. Here we will be boarding the bus for a25 minutes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu. We will be reaching early to enjoy the sunrise in Machu Picchu. You will be able to feel the energies and the great mystery of the Inca citadel.
Accompanied by our local guide, you will participate in a complete guided tour through the Sacred complex visiting the principal historic sites of the citadel like the Main Square, the Circular Tower. Also, we will explore the Sacred Solar Clock, the most important known as Intihuatana, important for its great handling for Inca astronomy, and generates great impact on visitors for its good state of preservation.
We will also pass around the Temple of the Three Windows, warehouses, houses, the great central square and the entire urban area with its incredible narrow passages, which are surrounded by terraces or platform systems that provide greater strength for the mountains.
At the end of our excursion, you will have enough time to walk through the archaeological places that have most impressed you, take as many pictures as you like, to immortalize your visit to the Historic Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the world.
We also suggest some of the following activities you could do on your own (not included in the price). One of them is the hike to the Huayna Picchu Mountain, an adventurous ascent from where you will appreciate the immensity of the Sanctuary, thus achieving the best of your experiences.
If you want to do the ascent you must reserve your entrance months in advance, because of its popularity, the Huayna Picchu receives many visitors each year.
Another activity is to visit the Puerta del Sol (Inti Punku), an opportunity to have a nice walk for approx. 1 hour to this gorgeous place. From here you will delight with the incredible landscape.
For our last lunch, we will eat at the Sanctuary Lodge Machu Picchu restaurant and share the highlights of the trip.
According to the schedule, we will be taking the bus down in time to take our return train.
After arriving at the train station we will take the train back to Cusco city.
Upon arrival at the Poroy station, we will have a person from the team waiting for us to transfer you to your Hotel in Cusco. Where, you will rest for the night.
The next day, you will depart from Cusco. One of our representatives will help you in your transfer to the airport. At this point we will say goodbye!
