Tour Details

Indulge in the serenity and the out-worldly vistas on this exclusive Nevado Ausangate Trek 4 Days from Cusco. Although the trek does not end at Machu Picchu, it is as popular as the Inca Trail

Nevado Ausangate Trek 4 Days from Cusco is an off the beaten path experience in the Peruvian Andes. This is one of the most beautiful treks in Cusco.

Ausangate Mountain is often referred to by locals as Apus. This is because it has been a  sacred entity since Inca civilization. At 6732 metres above sea level it is the highest peak in the region and dominates the southern skyline of Cusco on a clear day.

The trek offers enchanting views of the Andean highland regions from start to the end. You will also get an insight to the life and culture of the local community that has preserved their age old traditions and customs.

Please beware that you will be crossing several high elevations between 4700 metres above sea level and 5200 metres above sea level. It is highly recommended that you spend at least 4 days in Cusco and acclimatise to avoid altitude sickness. Palomani pass and Arapa Pass.

The famous Rainbow Mountains of Peru are near the Ausangate Mountain.

Ausangate Mountain is a part of the Peruvian Andes. It is subject to two seasons, wet season and dry season. It is often pleasant between March and November. Peruvian Andes experience the rainy season between December and February.

We are a fully locally owned tour operating company based in Cusco. We have an excellent team of guides who are mountaineering experts and have plenty of knowledge in the culture and traditions of locals here.
